Kaskasan Buddies Mobile App

Kaskasan Buddies currently relies on static Google Sheets, making it difficult for multi-card users to find relevant deals. The lack of categorization forces users to manually sift through bank-sorted lists, resulting in a fragmented and time-consuming search experience for time-sensitive promos.

My goal was to transform this spreadsheet into a streamlined mobile app that prioritizes discoverability. I designed a centralized platform featuring category-based filtering for high-value promos, a dedicated affiliate hub, and integrated utility tools for bill tracking and group expense splitting.

I organized the app’s features into five clear navigation paths based on the Kaskasan Buddies community’s needs. By structuring the architecture around Promos, Cards, KKBills, and KKBayad, I ensured that users can jump from finding a discount to managing their bills or splitting expenses in just a few taps. This flat hierarchy eliminates the confusion of the original spreadsheet and prioritizes the most-used community tools.

I developed low-fidelity wireframes to validate the information architecture before moving to high-fidelity. This phase focuses on perfecting the layout of category filters and the bill-tracking dashboard, ensuring essential tools are intuitively placed for quick, one-handed mobile use.

The final interface transforms the complex promo data into a clean, modern mobile experience. I utilized a card-based layout to highlight 50% off discounts and implemented a persistent bottom navigation bar for quick access to the KKBills (bill tracker) and KKBayad (split-payment) tools. The result is an intuitive, high-contrast design that makes financial management feel accessible and organized.

Leveraging the existing Kaskasan Buddies community, the app's launch saw immediate success, reaching #1 in both Finance and Top Free Apps on the Apple App Store within the first week. By providing a professional interface for an already active user base, the design successfully converted community loyalty into high app engagement and retention.

Designing for an established community taught me the value of user-centered evolution. My role wasn't to build an audience from scratch, but to honor the existing community by solving their specific pain points—transforming a beloved but manual "spreadsheet culture" into a streamlined, high-performance mobile experience.
